Welcome to Bendwood!

Greetings, Bendwood Families,

This year’s Back to School (x2) has surely stretched our parent community in ways it has never expected to be stretched. From the lead up to Harvey, the impact, and now the aftermath and recovery, our community is showing true spirit and resilience throughout this time. Now that SPIRAL classes have started this past Monday, I hope that is one more piece of the puzzle that is clicking into place for you and your children.

Curriculum Nights Postponed Post-Harvey

Dear Bendwood Families,

On behalf of the Bendwood PTA Exec Board, we hope this letter finds your family safe, supported, and in the arms of our community as we all work to re-establish our lives in the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey.

We wanted to confirm that the SPIRAL Curriculum Nights / PTA meetings originally planned for this week will be postponed given the continued school closure. We will continue to work with Jana Bassett, principal, and the school team to determine the appropriate scheduling impacts given the personal impacts of our staff and families, and that all of our SBISD schools will be working to recover previously laid plans.

For now, we know that most of the focus will be in getting back to routines in your home schools, and life in general. At the same time, we’ll work to make sure we keep you informed as new and returning Bendwood parents as best we can.

For additional information from the district, SBISD has an FAQ link on their website that is constantly evolving. You can access it at this link:

Please stay safe, and please feel free to reach out to me or the board directly if you have any questions or if there is anything we can do.

Take care,

Connie Boyd
Bendwood PTA President, 2017-18
